(NEW YORK, NY) - August 8, 2025 - This summer, Harlem’s heart beat a little louder — and ID104 Radio, produced by B2B PMG, was right in the center of it all, capturing every unforgettable moment.
On Friday, August 2, the legendary Apollo Theater became more than a landmark — it became the epicenter of pure, electric energy for Rise Up NYC, a free outdoor concert that drew music lovers from every borough. From the moment the gates opened at 5 PM, the corner of Adam Clayton Powell & Frederick Douglass Blvd turned into Harlem’s hottest stage.
The Night’s Unstoppable Lineup
The artists didn’t just perform — they made history.
Johnny Gill – Smooth, soulful, and magnetic. Harlem roared as he was honored with a Key to the City, a moment that had the crowd swelling with pride.
Big Daddy Kane – The living proof that hip-hop’s golden era isn’t going anywhere. His flow was as razor-sharp as ever.
Doug E. Fresh – Harlem’s own Human Beatbox showed exactly why his stage presence is legendary.
Crystal Waters – The queen of house lit up the night with timeless anthems like “Gypsy Woman (She’s Homeless)” and “100% Pure Love.”
And just when the crowd thought they’d seen it all, Waters dropped a bombshell: her first album in 27 years is coming August 8, led by her brand-new single “Umm Bop.” Harlem was the first to hear it — making the night a true once-in-a-generation experience.
More Than Music — A Movement
Rise Up NYC wasn’t just a concert. It was a celebration of community, culture, and connection — the kind of event that reminds you music is more than sound. It’s the pulse that brings us together, breaks down barriers, and turns a city into one big family.
