(ATLANTA, GA) Giving Influential Men Their Flowers is more than a powerful phrase; it's the heart of a movement dedicated to honoring the leadership, service, and legacy of African American men who are transforming their communities every day.

But here's the question: Why do we often wait until someone is gone before celebrating their impact? That question inspired Tonita Bybee and Nikiya Bain to create the inaugural Founding Fathers ATL initiative after recognizing that while women are frequently celebrated, the contributions of influential Black men often go unnoticed. Their vision has become a platform for recognizing living legends whose leadership continues to shape Metro Atlanta.

Held at Atlanta City Hall, this landmark event features culinary excellence by Chef Dunesha Barker-Bey of Food By Design Alpharetta, LLC and honors distinguished leaders, including music icon Teddy Riley and former NFL athlete Dr. Lawrence Sidbury Jr. Together, they represent the power of service, mentorship, and legacy in action.

The Mission Behind Founding Fathers ATL

Founding Fathers ATL was created to celebrate influential men while they are still actively building their legacy.

The Founding Class of 2026 recognizes leaders from diverse fields, including business, music, healthcare, law enforcement, athletics, education, and community advocacy—whose service continues to transform Metro Atlanta. The initiative exists to honor leadership, encourage mentorship, and inspire future generations by recognizing men whose impact reaches far beyond personal success.

Its message is simple: Give people their flowers while they can still receive them.
