(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) The 3rd Annual HBCU Honors Awards Media Roundtable was spectacular. Filled with inspiration, purpose, and celebration, every media outlet in attendance presented with excitement and an advanced level of inquisition.

"During the roundtable, we spoke with Rising Star Winner Ronald Johnson, asking what this recognition meant to him. His response was anchored in gratitude, faith, and determination," said Ebony Kimbrough. Johnson shared that he seeks first the Kingdom of God and feels deeply honored to be in the room with many of the artists who have inspired his journey and appear on his personal playlist.

His perspective serves as a reminder that HBCUs do more than educate—they shape leaders, build confidence, and ignite legacies that carry forward into every field and industry.

As Thanksgiving weekend unfolds, it’s a fitting time to celebrate Black excellence, leadership, and the limitless potential of HBCU students and alumni.

The celebration continues on Sunday, November 30, at 8 PM ET/PT on BET and BET Her.
